Saw this image and message on LinkedIn recently and I thought I would share it in my Blog this week. I hope you take time to ponder the choices you make each day. What are you choosing?
We Create Our LIfe By Our Choices

Amen to that! Life is the sum of the choices you make, that’s for sure, Anne. And while we’re living in difficult times with hardship and loss surrounding us on a day-to-day basis, I also remind myself of the quote, “When something bad happens you have 3 choices: You can let it define you. You can let it destroy you. Or you can let it strengthen you.” And then I ask myself, which one do you WANT it to be? I don’t always get it right, but at least if I set out with the intention to TRY I may get there eventually. Thanks for sharing.
All true Anne. I would just add: I CHOOSE to be KIND.
These are words to live by.
More and more we live in challenging times; times that challenge our moral compass and make us afraid to voice and stand by our values. Fortunately as a society we have the freedom to choose. I choose my words carefully and respectfully. I choose honesty and integrity in my profession and my personal life.
I choose to forgive. It’s a very powerful choice.
Anne,
Wonderful information above. Need to consider: being helpful.
At the age of eighty I am not renewing my RN license in April. I have devoted 45+ years to nursing. At this time I am devoting my time to volunteering as a Board Member of my synagogue, serving on a few committees.
What I have learned from multiple aspects of Nursing and Case Management certainly is great groundwork for the new volunteer work to which I have committed, although I have always done volunteer work starting at age 8 as a Brownie Scout.
I will continue my interest in nursing and unofficially recommend actions be considered by friends and acquaintances when they discuss and ask about medical issues they have and query what they should do.
– I always remind them I am not a doctor; do help them think outside the box, recommending they take issues and thoughts directly to their own MDs.
Nursing is, and always will be, a part of my life. I will remember the thoughts from above.
Thanks, Anne,
I am especially grateful these days for my precious family who have helped me to much through recent adverse effects following COVID Booster vaccination. The past 3 weeks have been challenging to say the least. But with the help of my family, I know I can face the future with their love and support. Having a physician and nurse in the family is one of my greatest gifts-ever.
Beautiful!
Hi Anne,
I open the window blinds every morning and in some fashion, choose to say all of those above. Another one I adopted from the church sermon last week was so needed after getting a new assignment that I was not particularly keen on. Instead of continuing to say, “Why me?”, I chose, “Give me wisdom”.
