I received an email from my professional Organization, the Case Management Society of America, asking all of us to take action and call our US Senators to ask them to vote NO as they review the Big Beautiful Bill.

As you might be aware, the U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a ‘budget reconciliation’ bill extending expiring tax cuts and providing hundreds of billions of dollars in additional funding for the military, border security, and deportations.

The bill also attempts to partially ‘pay for’ these costs with cuts through reduced spending on access to health insurance.

According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the bill would increase the number of people without health insurance by 8.6 million, primarily due to changes to Medicaid and Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces.

As case managers and other healthcare professionals, or individuals concerned about this legislation, we understand firsthand the critical role of Medicaid in ensuring access to healthcare for millions of senior citizens, children, and working families. This is why we are deeply concerned about the prospect of funding cuts or policy changes that would result in millions of Americans losing access to insurance.

The U.S. Senate is currently considering this reconciliation bill. You, Senator, can vote NO on the Bill so that the Congress and the US Senate can write a better bill that will help people. Otherwise, this bill will be sent back to Congress and is likely to pass, which would be devastating to millions of people.

If you also oppose policies that will lead to millions of Americans losing their insurance coverage, please join us in making your voice heard!

There are links below that will help you find your Senators so you can contact them and let them know you views on the bill.

You can email them through web contact forms on their website, or you can call their office directly to register your opinion. Here is a template letter and phone script for your use.

Find Your US Senator: https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm Once you find them, you will see their Washington, DC Office Phone Number and their email address. If you call them, you can leave a voicemail with your thoughts and why you are opposed to the Bill.

Another tool you can use to follow legislation and use your voice to show your support or concern is Five Calls. This is an app you can download to your phone, so you’ll have it with you when issues arise. https://5calls.org If is a very handy app to allow you to use your voice with your members of congress and the senate.

Using your voice is the most effective way to contact your members of Congress and the U.S. Senate. They want to hear from you!

Thank you for taking action! Have a good week!
