In this post, I am introducing my latest special report. This is an updated version of ‘Stepping Up to Certification’ that I have shared for the past five years, in hopes of helping professionals find the certification that is right for their care goals.

I am proud of this report because it marks the first and only ongoing collaboration among all the major certification bodies in the ‘helping professional’ space – Case Management, Patient Advocacy, and Volunteers. If you are a case/care manager, patient/health advocate, or a volunteer, this report is for you. It will give you an update on the current certifications available and help you choose which ones you might want to explore further. Certification is expensive and personal. When considering national certifications, look for those that align with your professional goals. Each is valid and holds its value. So choose wisely.

Case Management professionals use this Report to look for the ‘right’ certification for them when they are ready to step up to certification. The Report helps professionals view each case management certification in one place. The information helps them get an objective view of the various certifications and decide which ones to explore further to meet their career goals.

In this version, I added additional certifications: patient advocacy and one for volunteers! These are two areas that professionals can do as part of their profession or in retirement. Also, in addition to the information from various certification bodies on their certifications, I have included several articles that will enhance your knowledge of the value, work, and composition of certification exams.

I hope you will take the time to read the Special Report. If you have suggestions for new certifications or questions on the current ones, please let me know. Feel free to share this post with your colleagues who are looking to Step Up To Certification!
