I wanted to ask my readers and supporters of Nurses Advocates to keep my niece Krista Collings in your thoughts and prayers. She is currently in the hospital at the University of Pennsylvania oncology unit. She has a very aggressive cancer and is not doing well. She is 45 with a husband and two young children 13 and 10. Her parents live close to her in South Jersey and do everything they can do to help her during this devastating time. We are praying for a miracle and appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts.

Your niece is in my thoughts and prayers. About 25 years ago, I lost my brother’s wife to an aggressive form of cancer that was caused by asbestos. Her father had been a contractor and apparently, she was exposed to the residual asbestos that remained on the work clothes he wore home. Her father died of the same condition. My brother was heroic in caring for his devastated children and her mother. She was a lovely woman and we all still miss her. You are your family are going through a kind of hell, and I am so sorry. Hospice helped them at the end.
