Recently I was asked to be part of a radio show hosted by Sharon Weinstein and Dina Readinger who have developed the Nurse Listening Tour. I was asked to be part of the tour and share insights on where nurses are today and how we can get back to our baseline. Here is the link to listen to my interview! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJLg454nNIQ
Today nurses are under tremendous pressure, and it is impacting the workforce as people leave the profession or give up the fight and continue to work but have lost their spirit. It is impacting morale in the workplace, staffing levels and patient safety.
I hope you will take a few minutes to listen and let me know what you think. If you have ideas to help today’s nurses deal with the challenges they face, please share them in the comment section.
Have a good week!
Anne, thanks for reminding us of our early training and its continued application in advocating for our patients. I am grateful to the many nurse educators who inspired us to pursue our vocation.
Anne, you’re such a wonderful person and I feel fortunate to have you as a friend, and mentor. Thank you for inspiring me not to give up.
