When I face challenges that I feel that I have no control over, I turn to my faith. Today is one of those days. It seems like our world is out of control. We are in the midst of a pandemic which has caused over 100,000 deaths in under four months. On Memorial Day, a black man, George Floyd, was killed by a while policemen – for what reason we don’t know – but does the reason really matter? What happened, what we all saw, was just wrong.
Our country is divisive and angry. We are at a loss of what to do to change the situations we find us in.
So I am going to turn to my faith. I am going to increase the prayers I say to help our leaders work together to allow us to heal and find a way to learn from what we are going through.
I don’t mean to impose my views or beliefs on anyone, but I felt compelled to share what I am going to do, because I can’t think of anything else I could do to change the current situations.
I urge you to turn to what helps you cope. Our country is in trouble and we need help.
If you want to share how you are coping, please feel free to post of comment in the comment box or email me at allewellyn48@gmail.com if you want to set up a time to talk.
Thank you for reading
Please stay safe.
Praying helps me cope with things I cannot control. Our nursing class continue to pray as a group for our classmates on the frontlines, impacted by Covid 19, our families and friends. It is very therapeutic and healing. Great support system. Thank you.
If more people had FAITH, this world would be a better place, in my opinion.
If we saw the protests and destruction in another country that is now happening in our USA, we would probably feel/express: THAT IS WRONG!
Hopefully, PEACE will be restored to our USA ASAP with no more destruction!
Anne thank you for allowing a forum to express my belief. I would like to first state I reject racism and brutality in any form. I personally believe God is able to do all things exceedingly above all that we could ever hope or imagine! During these times,I am seeking God to direct my path and not lend to my own understanding. For me, prayer is the key and faith unlocks the door.
I completely agree, Anne…sometimes when things look so bleak and discouraging, it is an opportunity to get on our knees and look up. Faith in God’s perfect plan keeps me going on some days. When we can’t see His hand, we trust in His heart…only our Creator can turn some of the darkest of times into something good over time.
